Our History

In the early to middle 1960’s Reverend Henry Robertson took in 15 members to the Church of God after a week of revival in church on 9th and Ludlow Streets in Hamilton, Ohio. The young church was unable to remain at the location due to city zoning ordinances at the time. Robinson’s church purchased the building at 7th and Chestnut and began to meet in the basement until the former owners moved into their new location on Princeton Road. The church was officially organized with the Church of God, Cleveland Tennessee in 1965. After the 7th and Chestnut building was sold, the property was purchased and the first sanctuary was built at the current location in 1967.
The Fairfield Church of God was established. For 50 years now at the current location, faithful pastors and members have ensured that the Spirit-filled message and Gospel of Jesus Christ has had a witness to thousands in the area and, for much of its existence, provided a spiritual hub and home for hundreds of believers at a time.
Today, Pastors Patrick and Melissa Owens invite you to partner with us as we write the subsequent chapters of this church’s fruitful history. March with us as we move forward into that future together! Learn with us who God is making us and where He is leading us as we endeavor to be and develop disciples who Gather, Grow, Give, and Go!

OUR MISSION

Pursuing Jesus together in everyday life

Our Mission and Vision

Illustration

GATHER

Because we accept God's invitation to know Him, His Word, and Will, we pursue him through intimate worship, consistent engagement with His Word, and a lifestyle of prayer. We do this individually (daily prayer and devotion) and corporately (when we the church gather) by God's design.

GROW

As "New Creations" in Christ, we are destined to live and grow. We grow by connection, interaction, and multiplication with other committed disciples. "Iron sharpens Iron," and we learn through "one another" God's way through relationships with others; this includes fellowship, prayer, and study with small groups like our Growth Groups and Midweek groups at the church, as well as serving others on ministry teams.

GIVE

God invites us to involve and invest ourselves and our resources in His Church and His mission on the Earth. The local church is not only God's design; it is the most practical and logical place for his disciples to do this. So we give financially and our time and abilities into and through the local church, God has aligned us with to reach the lost, serve our community to make it better and stronger, and see others blessed and come to know Jesus as Lord and savior.

GO

This is the call of God to serve inside and outside the local church. One cannot escape the scriptural call from the heart of God to go and tell others about His amazing love, saving grace, and the invitation to follow Him and be a part of His family. This is where we compel others to Gather, Grow, Give, and Go, telling others the Good news. Specifically, we share the Good News in our gatherings, ministries, outreaches, and personal witnessing. We invite others to join us on the journey!

Our Core Values

Illustration

The Fairfield.Church's sole purpose is to lead you to the knowledge of the vision, mission, purpose, and direction of Christ. The Church of God believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit and gift of tongues. A spiritual gift is an expression of the Holy Spirit.

OUR DECLARATION OF FAITH

Illustration

The Fairfield.Church is a Church of God congregation and has the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.
We Believe...

● In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.● In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.● That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.● That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.● That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.● In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.● Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.● In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.●  In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.● In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.● Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.● In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saints' feet.●  In the second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.● In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

AT A GLANCE

God, The Father

God is the perfect Creator and Ruler of the Universe. He has eternally existed as Father, the Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1,26-27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

God, The Son

Jesus is a man and a God at the same time. The sinless human life, the execution and, the death of Jesus on the cross form the perfect sacrifice for the sins of every person. Jesus rose from the dead (that is, the "resurrection") after three days to show His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return to earth again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13

God, The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit helps us realize that we need God's salvation through the death of Jesus. The Holy Spirit gives the followers of Christ the power to live, to understand spiritual truth, and to guide us to do the right things. We strive to live under the direction of the Holy Spirit daily. 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13, 5:18; Galatians 5:25

The Bible

The Bible is the source of God's Word for us, inspired by God and written by people under the supernatural direction of the Holy Spirit. This is the ultimate fountain of truth for life. This is our main authority for faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16, 1:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 119:160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5; Psalm 19:7-11; Matthew 24:35

Salvation

We can never indemnify our sin and contumacy through self-improvement or good deeds. Only by accepting the free gift of God's forgiveness through the death and resurrection of Jesus can everyone be saved from eternal punishment for sin: Hell. Salvation starts at the moment when we recognize our need and believe that Jesus Christ is the payment for our sins. Romans 6:23, 5:1; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26

Our Humanity

People are created by God in His spiritual image so that they were similar to Him in character; we are the highest object of His creation. Although each human being has great potential for good, we are all clouded by the attitude of contumacy toward God, which is called "sin." This sets us apart from God and causes numerous problems in our lives. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2
